The Story

I have a few rules I live by in the Writer’s Block.

TREAT MY CLIENTS THE WAY I WANT TO BE TREATED.

That’s my number one rule. They don’t call it the Golden Rule for nothing. Starting anything new can be exciting and frightening,  from a new job to writing a great intro. I set out to ease my clients into all their new beginnings with great content and quality service.

CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE MY CLIENTS FEEL COMFORTABLE EXPRESSING THEIR NEEDS, THINK BIG AND DO GOOD THINGS.

Sometimes a good outcome requires good teamwork. I make a difference in a client’s career and business opportunities, from something as simple as a cover letter that makes a great first impression, to a resume or web content for their own website. When it is hard to sell yourself, I can do it for you.

GET OUT THERE.

No business is an Island unto itself. Serving the community is part of my foundation-from helping to create youth programs and bridging cultural divides to volunteering and donating my time and efforts to community projects, non-profit organisations and social programs.

My clients and the community are my stakeholders. I consider them in every decision I make.

ANY QUESTIONS? THIS IS THE PLACE FOR ANSWERS.

Why The Writer’s Block?

In 1992, I found myself wandering around a library with my little one in tow. I walked from stack to stack and came across a quiet reading room with a writer and her lone stack of books, slumped against a chalkboard. I told her I was “just” a writer. Her hypothesis was that we are all born with childlike imagination, then we grow up and develop perpetual “writer’s block.” She explained, “It is in writers that the creative child-like mind continues.” I have long been inspired by that first introduction to professional writing and the idea that writers are a service to humanity and an extension of the community.

After several forays into writing classes and competitions, in 2000 I began to write professionally. Writing gave me the freedom to expand my education, serve the community and to be with my children in their formative years.

Her words nudge me every once in a while and the most memorable is her concept of “writer’s block.” It opened up my world, expanded and reconnected me to my passion and my place in the community.

So, I took on the role and came up with The Writer’s Block Communications.  It is just what it sounds, anything connected to writing, from resumes, business letters, legal documents, research writing, editing, ghost writing or proposals, if it involves writings it can be achieved by The Writer’s Block Communications. I’ll even recommend a few great books or share a trade secret here and there.

MY GOALS

When I started my business , I had two goals

1. Offer my services to local businesses and individuals to help them expand their business.
2. Build a business that would solve problems-See a need, fill a need.

In order to fulfil requirement #2, I continue to expand my abilities, training, and constant effort in honing my skills. I reach out and work with local businesses in providing quality services to meet their needs.
